Over a bright and sunny long weekend in 2017, I proposed the idea of heading out to Clear Lake to my wife and two daughters. We packed up the RV and hit the road just a couple of hours later, making our way down the highway and headed to the place we’d call home for a few days while still cozy in our RV.
When we first arrived at our spot, we immediately got out and took in the fresh air, felt the gentle breeze coming off of the crystal-clear water, and enjoyed the natural melody of chirping birds and rustling leaves. The serenity of nature is really something else.
With two teenagers, it can be hard to get the family spending quality time together, but they had so much fun swimming, hiking, and sitting around the campfire, they were hardly on their phones. We decided to make it a yearly trip that the whole family would always be present for.
Since that long weekend in 2017, each year we find a new campsite to visit in Manitoba and spend our long weekend as a family among the beautiful Manitoba landscape. We’ve since visited Steep Rock, Wasagaming, Spruce Woods, and this year we’re headed off to Wekusko Falls!
